"Beloved, I pray that you prosper in all things and be in health, just as your
soul prospers." 3 John 1:2

Christ the Healer
God’s River of Healing

The Word of God tells us in Psalm 103 about the benefits God has promised to those who serve Him.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.”  Psalm 103:1-3

The Bible teaches us that Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost. There is no doubt that God loves each of us and wants us to be set free from the power of sin.  The gospel message is good news! The good news is Jesus Christ died to take away the sin of the whole world, was buried, and then rose from the dead to conquer sin and give us eternal life. Salvation from sin is one of the benefits of the package God has given us. He “pardons all your iniquities.” What an awesome promise! We can have all of our sins forgiven through the work of Jesus on the cross.

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”  John 1:12

A second benefit that is linked closely with this first one is “heals all your diseases.”  The same God that wants each of us to be saved,  also wants us to be healed. It is our right and privilege to have divine health. God’s Word does not lie. All means all! God has provided for both our salvation and our healing through the work Jesus did on the cross.

“He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted  with grief and sickness; and  like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him. Surely He has borne our griefs (sickness, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains (of punishment), yet we (ignorantly) considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God (as if with leprosy).  But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement (needful to obtain) peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes (that wounded) Him we are healed and made whole.”  Isaiah 53:3-5 AMP

If Jesus took or carried our sickness and pain to the cross—by faith we no longer need to carry the burden.

“He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases.”
Matthew 8:17

“. . . how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”  Acts 10:38

This promise is repeated in 1 Peter 2:24 and 2 Peter 3:9. God’s Word teaches us that God truly wants all people to be saved from sin. It is also true that God wants, or wills, that all people should be healed. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross took care of both problems.  Now it is up to each of us to receive His benefits! God’s prescription is for each of us to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by faith. We receive every benefit from God the same way—through faith. Faith is the pipeline that all of the blessings of God come through to us.

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10:9-10

This promise works the same for healing. There must be a heartfelt belief and a faith-filled confession in what the Word of God says. Speak what you believe based on the Word of God. You are speaking what you believe you have. There is a miracle in your mouth! Here are more scriptures to reinforce the truth:

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”
Proverbs 4:20-22

“O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.”  Psalm 30:2

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”  James 5:14-15

Healing Scriptures
Exodus 15:26            Jeremiah 17:14
Proverbs 3:8              Matthew 9:1-8
Matthew 9:18-38      Matthew 10:7-8
Matthew 15:29-31    Mark 16:15-18
Luke 9:2,8                 Acts 9:32-35
Acts 10:38                James 5:16

Read and meditate on these verses and speak them aloud. There’s a miracle in your mouth. Ask God for His benefits to be made evident in your life. Apply the medicine of God’s Word liberally. God responds to faith, not our need. Put your scriptures in places where they can be seen all through the day.

This message is not anti-medicine or anti-doctors. Whether God uses medicine and doctors or miraculously heals, all healing ultimately comes from God. His desire is for you to be healed. Remember, never give up! Always fight the good fight of faith.  Receive your healing NOW!
